It’s all going on in the old hall

THE Artist Residency Program at the Upper River Hall has been a great success, according to Upper Kangaroo River Progress Association president Sarah Butler.

THEATRE PRACTICE: The Upper River Hall in Kangaroo Valley Artist Residency Program sees the Eaton Gorge Theatre Company use the premises for inspiration and practice recently.

Actors and writers have used the premises throughout July to put the finishing touches on their play, Audrey of the Outback.

“The program is going very well,” Ms Butler said.

“It’s sometimes hard for artists to find a space and what is so great about the hall is it’s in the middle of nowhere – it’s an inspiring and peaceful spot.

“A theatre workshop for young people was also held.

“A preview of Audrey of the Outback will be held on Friday for everyone to enjoy.”

Nowra singer-songwriter Ben Fowler also took full use of the hall this month with his band Southerly Change.

He was recording songs for his new album and also performed at the venue.
